Job Summary: A vacancy has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor, based out of our Bury St Edmunds Office. Reporting to the General Manager, you will work alongside the contract delivery team to ensure the profitability, cash management, cost control and accurate reporting of Mechanical / Electrical and Combined schemes, predominately in the water industry. The main duties include the responsibility for the following:
1. Assisting the proposals team evaluate risk and opportunity during tender preparation. 2. Reviewing of contract documents to ensure that the company is protected from onerous terms and conditions. 3. Undertake cost to complete / budget reviews with the contract delivery teams. 4. Attend internal and external commercial review meetings. 5. Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors. 6. Preparation of subcontract orders. 7. Preparation of / assistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works. 8. Ensuring the contract delivery teams maintain a positive cash flow where possible. 9. Ensuring the office debts are controlled and cash recovery is effective and in line with management expectations. 10. Preparation of monthly financial performance reports for submission to the Company Directors.
Skills & Qualifications Required: 1. An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent. 2. Commercial and contractual awareness. 3. Working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Job Summary: Preparing multi-discipline tenders for the Water and Waste industry and Industrial markets predominantly in the Thames, Eastern and South East area.
1. ハThe timely completion of multiple concurrent tenders, including Framework tenders. 2. ハLiaise with Proposal｡ｦs Manager and client｡ｦs staff to ensure KPI｡ｦs are met or exceeded. 3. ハRead and understand client specifications and drawings. 4. ハPrepare Material Cost Analysis spreadsheets. 5. ハAttend internal and external review and progress meetings. 6. ハAttend site visits/meetings. 7. ハAscertain preliminary and detailed project requirements and solutions, including programmes and value engineering solutions. 8. ハUnderstand and complete contract documentation for submissions. 9. ハConsider site safety, health and environmental issues. 10. ハCo-ordinate and liaise with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors and in-house resources. 11. ハCompile and collate final submission documentation and data sheets etc. for inclusion into tenders.
