Our Client is part of a major European speciality distribution group. Their Animal Nutrition Business Unit has the contacts, market understanding and technical capability to add value to products with sales potential within the agricultural market sector in the UK and Europe.


They currently have a vacancy for a Product Manager - Animal Nutrition (Feed Materials / Feed Additives). This position is full-time and permanent and will be office based within their Animal Nutrition Business Unit in Cheshire.

  

The ideal candidate will manage the Animal Nutrition product portfolio in order to meet gross margin and working capital targets, by agreeing and implementing the Business Strategy.

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of products and deliver gross margin, working capital, fixed costs and cash flow targets in order that the business meets its financial targets
  • Maintain and develop relationships with Principals in order to retain existing/new business
  • Negotiate and secure contracts with all key Principals in order to ensure long term security
  • Manage the customer service staff within the Animal Nutrition business in order that business and individual objectives are optimised.
  • Monitor; report and act on market and competitor activities in order to ensure that product strategies reflect current market activity.
  • Implement the Animal Nutrition strategy in order that the long term interests of the business are protected.
  • Ensure compliance with all QA and SHE requirements, procedures and working instructions in order to maintain high customer service standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Candidates will ideally be technically qualified and have the relevant commercial experience gained within this field
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent commercial awareness, combining marketing, selling and purchasing expertise with strategic, analytical thinking
  • The ability to adapt to new requirements and have a flexible approach to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Confident in interacting at all levels within the business - from staff to commercial and senior management
  • The ability to manage a team of people
  • The commitment to challenge yourself personally and develop new skills
  • The ability to think commercially and deliver results

In return our client is offering a highly competitive package including a basic salary between £30,000 and £40,000 per annum plus benefits including pension scheme and private healthcare.
