Head of Psychological Services - Newmarket
We require a Head of Psychology for a low secure hospital that provides highly-specialised assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for adults with learning disabilities/ autistic spectrum conditions, mental health needs and challenging behaviour, or for those with a forensic history or who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act. To ensure a high quality of life for patients, this small hospital places a strong emphasis on community inclusion and, where appropriate, a care pathway through to greater community integration.
Purpose of the role: To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of all psychological services and psychologists within the service, and to ensure that systems are in place and working effectively for the clinical and professional supervision and support of all other psychologists, including clear systems for professional appraisal and identification of CPD needs.
Candidates must have: 1) A Post Graduate Qualification in Clinical Psychology (Doctoral or Diploma). (We may consider a Forensic Psychology qualification depending on experience).
2) Minimum of five years senior clinical/operational management experience at Consultant level
3) Proven track record of delivering hands on clinical services to people with a learning disability/mental health problems who challenge
4) Proven track record of budgeting and resource management
The salary for the post is £55,000 upwards depending on experience.
